English / USA Maintenance Chart The following maintenance operations apply to normal operating conditions. If working conditions are difficult (very dusty work area, etc.) or your daily working time is longer than normal, shorten the specified intervals accordingly. Complete machine Visual inspection (condition, leaks) X X Clean X Control handle Check operation X X Air filter (felt) Clean Replace Air filter (paper) Filter in fuel tank Clean Replace Have checked by dealer1) Have replaced by dealer1) Fuel tank Clean Carburetor Check idle setting Readjust idle X X Spark plug Readjust electrode gap Replace after 100 hours of operation Visual inspectiong X Cooling inlet Clean Spark arresting screen2) in muffler Have checked by dealer1) Have cleaned or replaced by dealer1) All accessible screws and nuts (not adjusting screws) Retighten AV elements (springs) Visual inspection X Have replaced by dealer1) Clean X Cutting blade Sharpen Gearbox lubrication Lubricate after 25 hours of operation Safety labels Replace 1) STIHL recommends a STIHL servicing dealer 2) Not installed on all models 24 before starting work after finishing work or daily after each refueling stop weekly monthly yearly if problem if damaged if required X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X HS 86 R, HS 86 T
