The end of the thread on screw (1) is caulked to ensure that the wingnut (2) does not work loose and be lost. A very high torque has to be applied to remove the wingnut from the screw. If the parts are then reassembled, the captive function is no longer guaranteed. In such a case have the screw and wingnut replaced by your STIHL dealer. Gearbox wheel Have worn wheel replaced by your STIHL dealer. The wheel helps protect the gearbox from wear. If the gearbox wheel is worn, also check the wear indicator and the gearbox for signs of damage - see "Checking and Replacing the Wear Indicator". Removing the skirt : Loosen the screw (1) on the clamp (2) and slide the clamp back along the drive tube in the direction of the engine. 3 34 : Release screws (3) on arm (4) and remove together with arm. 245BA020 KN FC 85 29

Removing the skirt
:
Loosen the screw

on the

on arm

remove together with arm.
