" To start playback from the desired point (direct play) To select and play the desired chapter (track) or title: You can select and play the desired chapter (track) or title. 1 While in the stop or playback mode, press the DIRECT button. Example: During DVD playback Example: During CD playback 2 Selecting a chapter (track) Enter the chapter (track) number using the direct buttons (0 - 9) within 30 seconds. Selecting by title Select " " by pressing the or button within 30 seconds and enter the title number using the direct buttons (0 - 9). The cursor automatically enters the chapter number. Example: Chapter 1: "10/0", "1" Chapter 12: "1", "2" To play by specifying time: You can play back from the desired point by specifying the time. 1 During playback, press the DIRECT button twice. _:__:__ TOTAL 2:16:13 2 Within 30 seconds, specify the time with the di- rect buttons. 1:23:40 TOTAL 2:16:13 ! To specify 1 hour 23 minutes and 40 seconds, enter "12340". ! If you enter the wrong number, press the CLEAR button and then reenter. Notes: ! Direct play feature is disabled on some discs. ! Some discs may not display the chapter number. ! You can select the chapter (track) number by using the direct buttons only. If the track number is 2 digits or more, press ">10" and enter the number. Example: Chapter 14: ">10", "1", "4" ! With DVDs, you can specify the desired point only in the current title and not in the other title. ! With audio CDs, you can specify the desired point only in the current track and not in the disc. ! Some discs cannot play from the specified point. ! Time search feature is disabled on some discs. ! You cannot specify the time while the disc is stopped. " Still picture/Frame advance You can freeze the image and advance frame by frame. 1 While a disc is playing, press the STILL/PAUSE button. Each press of the STILL/PAUSE button advances the frame in the still mode. 2 Press the DVD/CD button to return to the normal playback. Note: Still and frame advance features are disabled on some discs. " Slow-motion play You can slow down the playback speed. 1 While a disc is playing, press the STILL/PAUSE button. 2 Press the button while the image is paused. Three speeds are available. Each time the button is pressed, the speed of slowmotion playback changes in the following sequence: 1/16 (about 1/16 times) 1/8 (about 1/8 times) 1/2 (about 1/2 times) Advanced Disc Features - Basic operation - SD-AT50 DX-AT50 ENGLISH The same operation can be performed by holding down the button on the DVD player for 2 seconds or more. 3 Press the DVD/CD button to return to the normal playback.
