English Remote control device code Changing the programmable remote control code, this player can be played with another Marantz DVD player at the same time. The default setting is Code 1 Programming the player to respond to Code 2 STANDBY POWER VIDEO OFF DISPLAY OFF D PL SUPER AUDIO CD PLAYER SA-12S1 PLAY SOUND MODE OPEN/CLOSE 1 Press POWER on the player to turn off. 2 Press SOUND MODE and / OPEN/CLOSE together when turning ON this player pressing by POWER. ➤ The player will now be programmed to respond to Code 2. ➤ When steps 1 and 2 are repeated the system code is set to Code 1 again. Selecting the remote control code DISC MENU SYSTEM The Speaker Setting of SACD for Multichannel Audio We recommend you to use ITU (International Telecommunication Union) speaker setting because SACD multichannel discs are recorded and mixed down to hear the best quality sound when this setting are used. The basic settings are 3 speakers for front and 2 for back since multichannel discs have basically 5 channeled mixed down, but there are some discs which can be used the 6th speaker (sub-woofer). (See your multichannel disc information.) The 2-front, 1-center, and 2-surround speakers should be set on the circle from the listening point as shown below. Sub-woofer can be located any place in your room. (See the users manual of your sub-woofer.) Note: When you use different sizes of speakers, please adjust the volume balances by your amplifier/surround receiver. You can also use the 5.1 channel surround setting for DVD but you might feel different presence than the ITU recommended.
