Ozone filter Replace the ozone filter. BID The BID engage might impact the PIP trailing edge smoothness and as a result, the cleaning station wiper might fail to wipe the PIP of oil residue. This could lead to side fog or dripping, do the following: 1. Print the grey20 job in separate colors and check if side fog is visible in all the colors or only 1 or 2 colors. 2. If side fog is visible in all colors, reduce the BID ink flow to the minimum in all ink stations (use the Ink Flow Calibration wizard). 3. If side fog is visible in 1 or 2 colors, reduce the BID ink flow to the minimum in those 1-2 colors. 4. Check the BID engage hardware (springs, cams, bearings). Replace if necessary. 5. Run the BID engage wizard. 6. Check for side fog as described in "Checking for side fog on page 1". Blanket Blanket creep might lead to PIP skew. This could expose the PIP underlayer and cause side fog.Do the following: 1. Clean any ink accumulation from the ITM drum shoulders and verify that there is no blanket creep. 2. Measure the ITM temperature using an external IR temperature meter. If calibration is needed, follow the instructions in the CA393-09500 - IR Sensors Reading and Calibration document. 3. If there is a known issue with second transfer or drum bearings, such as ink transfer, CPR (Color Plane Registration), or banding, check the condition of the ITM bearings using DP-POS as described in TN-2173 - Creating a dp_pos file using legacy UI. If necessary, replace the ITM bearings as described in CA393-00050 - ITM and PIP Drum Removal. 4. If any corrective action was taken above, check for side fog as described in "Checking for side fog on page 1". ITM blowers Refer below for the ITM Blowers. 1. Verify that all the air blowers and suction blowers around the ITM are working properly. 2. If any of the blowers is not working properly, replace it and then check for side fog as described in "Checking for side fog on page 1". PSTB funnel Follow the steps below to troubleshoot PSTB funnel. NOTE: This procedure is for sheet-fed presses only. 10 Chapter 2 Procedures
