5 5-5 Setting Up a Non-Bootable RAID Array This section assumes the following setup : ■ Boot Disk with Windows XP installed : One hard disk HDS728090PLAT20 (80GB) is connected to the IDE channel, and set to Master. ■ A Mirrored RAID Array Disk : Two SATA hard disks are configured as a mirrored RAID1 array, they are : Hitachi HDT725025VLA3, (250.05GB) connected to SATA port2 of the motherboard. Seagate ST3320620AS, (320.07GB) connected to SATA port3. ■ A SATA DVD Drive : A DVD drive connected to SATA port1. WARNING! To achieve the best performance and reliability, we highly recommend you using the hard disks with the same brand, size and model number. Though we are using different brand of hard disks as an example here, the purpose is only for easy understanding. 1. Reboot your system, and go to "IDE Configuration" menu. Enable the RAID function.
