50 To remove a DIMM: 3 System upgrade Important: Before removing any DIMM from the mainboard, make sure to create a backup file of all important data. 1 Perform the pre-installation instructions described on page 28. 2 Remove the air duct to access the DIMM slots. Perform the instructions described in "To remove the air duct" section on page 33. 3 Press the holding clips on both sides of the DIMM slot outward to release the DIMM (A). 4 Gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the DIMM slot (B). B A 5 If you intend to install a new DIMM, refer to previous section for related procedure, otherwise reinstall the air duct, then observe the post-installation instructions described on page 28. To reconfigure the system memory: The system automatically detects the amount of memory installed. Run the BIOS setup to view the new value for total system memory and make a note of it.

To remove a DIMM:
Important:
Before removing any DIMM from the mainboard,

Remove the air duct to access the DIMM slots. Perform the
instructions described in “To remove the air duct” section on page
33.

Press the holding clips on both sides of the DIMM slot outward to
release the DIMM

Gently pull the DIMM upward to remove it from the DIMM slot

If you intend to install a new DIMM, refer to previous section for
related procedure, otherwise reinstall the air duct, then observe
the post-installation instructions described on page 28.
