Periodic maintenance and adjustment coolant is not available, use distilled water or soft tap water instead. Do not use hard water or salt water since it is harmful to the engine. If water has been used instead of coolant, replace it with coolant as soon as possible, otherwise the cooling system will not be protected against frost and corrosion. If water has been added to the coolant, have a Yamaha dealer check the antifreeze content of the coolant as soon as possible, otherwise the effectiveness of the coolant will be reduced. [ECS00492] 3. Remove the coolant reservoir cap and add coolant until it reaches the "FULL" mark. 1. "FULL" mark 2. Coolant reservoir cap 1. "FULL" mark 2. Coolant reservoir cap 4. Close the shroud. Bleeding the cooling system The cooling system must be bled if the coolant reservoir becomes empty, if air can be seen in the cooling system, or if there is a cooling system leak. Consult a Yamaha dealer. ECS00500 Recommended antifreeze: High-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors Antifreeze and water mixing ratio: 3:2 Total amount: 4.70 L (4.97 US qt, 4.14 Imp.qt) 4. Start the engine and add coolant until the coolant level stabilizes, and then stop the engine. Fill the coolant reservoir with coolant until it reaches the "FULL" mark. Install the coolant reservoir cap. Check for any coolant leakage. NOTICE Operating the engine with an improperly bled cooling system can cause overheating and severe engine damage. 5. 6. 7. Replenishing the coolant 1. 2. Place the snowmobile on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Open the shroud. TIP If you find any leaks, consult a Yamaha dealer. 51
