Left side cover ESU12733 To remove the drive guard 1. Pull out the drive guard locking pin from the drive guard rear holder. 2. Lift up the rear of the drive guard as shown, and then pull the guard rearward to remove it. Drive guard EWS00401 WARNING G G Coming in contact with the rotating Vbelt or clutch parts can cause severe injury or death. Never run the engine with the drive guard removed. Make sure that the drive guard is tightened securely before operating the snowmobile to protect against severe injury or death from a broken V-belt or other part should it come off the snowmobile while it is in operation. To install the drive guard 1. Insert the projections on the drive guard front holder into the slots in the front of the drive guard. 17

Drive guard
WARNING

Coming in contact with the rotating V-
belt or clutch parts can cause severe in-
jury or death. Never run the engine with
the drive guard removed.
Make sure that the drive guard is tight-
ened securely before operating the
snowmobile to protect against severe
injury or death from a broken V-belt or
other part should it come off the snow-
mobile while it is in operation.

Never run the engine with the V-belt re-
moved. Clutch components can be dam-
aged.
The drive guard is designed to protect the V-
belt clutch and V-belt in case parts break or
come loose.
The drive guard is located behind the left side
cover. (See page 42 for removal procedures.)
To remove the drive guard
1.
Pull out the drive guard locking pin from
the drive guard rear holder.
2.
Lift up the rear of the drive guard as
shown, and then pull the guard rearward
to remove it.
To install the drive guard
1.
Insert the projections on the drive guard
front holder into the slots in the front of the
drive guard.
