2. Check the brake pedal free play by pressing against the pedal with two fingers (using light force) and measuring the distance the pedal travels before resistance is felt. Brake pedal free play: 20-25 mm (0.79-0.98 in) 3. If the free play distance needs adjusting, loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting nut in or out (in 180° increments only, due to the cam shape of adjuster), until the free play specification is met.
