Engine Doesn't Turn Over Possible Cause Blown fuse Low battery voltage Loose battery connections Loose solenoid connections TROUBLESHOOTING Solution Replace fuse Recharge the battery to 12.8 VDC Check all connections and tighten Check all connections and tighten Engine Turns Over, Fails to Start Possible Cause Out of fuel Clogged fuel valve or filter Water is present in fuel Fuel valve is turned off Old or non-recommended fuel Fouled or defective spark plug(s) No spark to spark plug Overuse of choke Water or fuel in crankcase Low battery voltage Mechanical failure Solution Refuel, cycle key to ON position three times for 5 seconds each, then start Inspect and clean or replace Drain the fuel system and refuel Turn the fuel valve on Replace with fresh recommended fuel Inspect plugs and replace if necessary Inspect plugs, verify stop switch is on Inspect, clean and/or replace spark plugs Immediately see your Polaris dealer Recharge the battery to 12.8 VDC See your dealer Engine Backfires Possible Cause Weak spark from spark plug Incorrect spark plug gap or heat range Old or non-recommended fuel Incorrectly installed spark plug wires Incorrect ignition timing Mechanical failure Solution Inspect, clean and/or replace spark plug(s) Set gap to specs or replace plugs Replace with fresh recommended fuel See your dealer See your dealer See your dealer 121
