Inspection
Check that the choke knob returns properly and
that the inner cable slides smoothly. If there is any
irregularity, have the choke cable checked by an
authorized Kawasaki dealer.
Lift the cargo bed and support it with the hook.
Raise the seat.
Remove the guard plate by releasing the two air
intake ducts and the 6 quick rivets.
A. Guard Plate
B. Air Intake Ducts (2 p.c.s.)
C. Clamps
D. Quick Rivets (6 p.c.s.)
E. Cap
Make sure the choke knob is all the way into its
released position.
To determine the amount of choke cable play at
the knob, pull the choke knob out until the starter
lever at the carburetor starts to move; the amount
of choke knob travel is the amount of cable play.
