The card is designed so that it can be inserted only one way. Do not try to force the card into the slot. Memory cards have a limited lifespan, so it is important to back up important data. Do not write to a card if the battery power is low. Low power might affect writing accuracy. Do not remove a card while read/write is in progress. For more details on using memory cards, see manuals accompanying the cards. Inserting memory media The following instructions apply to all types of supported media devices. To insert memory media, do the following: 1. Turn the memory media so that the contacts (metal areas) face down. 2. Insert the memory media into the memory media slot on your computer. 3. Make sure that the memory media is oriented properly before you insert it. If you insert the media in wrong direction, you might not be able to remove it. When inserting the memory media, do not touch the metal contacts. You might expose the storage area to static electricity, which can destroy data. Do not turn off the computer or switch to Sleep Mode or Hibernation Mode while files are being copied. Failure to do so might cause data loss. User's Manual 4-15
