18 Troubleshooting Guide 18 Troubleshooting Guide English 18.1 Pressure Washer Before troubleshooting, switch off the pressure washer and disconnect the unit from the power supply. Relieve all system pressure by pulling the trigger switch. Lock the spray gun trigger. Condition The pressure washer does not start although the spray gun trigger is pulled. The pressure washer does not start when switched on. The electric motor hums. The pressure washer switches off while in operation. The high-pressure pump repeatedly switches on and off without pulling the spray gun trigger. Possible Cause The power supply cord is not connected to an electrical outlet. The GFCI has interrupted the electrical circuit. The electric motor is too warm. The mains voltage is too low. The power supply cord is not connected to an electrical outlet. The GFCI has interrupted the electrical circuit. The electric motor is too warm. There is a leak in the high-pressure pump, high-pressure hose or spray attachment. Remedy ► Connect the power supply cord to a properly installed electrical outlet. ► Reset the GFCI, @ 10.2. ► Switch off other loads connected to the same circuit. ► If the pressure washer still does not start, disconnect the pressure washer from the power supply and have it inspected by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer before further use. ► Allow the pressure washer to cool at ambient temperatures for approximately 5 minutes. ► Clean the nozzle, @ 16.3. ► Pull and hold the spray gun trigger and switch on the pressure washer. ► Switch off other loads connected to the same electrical circuit. ► Connect the power supply cord to a properly installed electrical outlet. ► Reset the GFCI, @ 10.2. ► If the pressure washer still does not start, disconnect the pressure washer from the power supply and have it inspected by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer before further use. ► Allow the pressure washer to cool at ambient temperatures for approximately 5 minutes. ► Clean the nozzle, @ 16.3. ► Have the pressure washer inspected and repaired by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer. 0458-004-8621-A 33

Before troubleshooting, switch off the pressure washer and disconnect the unit from the power supply. Relieve all system
pressure by pulling the trigger switch. Lock the spray gun trigger.
Condition

The pressure washer does
not start although the spray
gun trigger is pulled.
The power supply cord is not connected
to an electrical outlet.
Connect the power supply cord to a properly
installed electrical outlet.
The GFCI has interrupted the electrical
circuit.
Reset the GFCI,

Switch off other loads connected to the same
circuit.
If the pressure washer still does not start,
disconnect the pressure washer from the power
supply and have it inspected by an authorized
STIHL servicing dealer before further use.
The electric motor is too warm.
Allow the pressure washer to cool at ambient
temperatures for approximately 5 minutes.
Clean the nozzle,
