To reduce the risk of fire and burn injury, use only spark plugs authorized by STIHL. Always press spark plug boot (1) snugly onto spark plug terminal (2) of the proper size. (Note: If terminal has detachable SAE adapter nut, it must be attached.) A loose connection between spark plug boot and ignition wire connector in the boot may create arcing that could ignite combustible fumes and cause a fire. Replacing the Starter Rope and Rewind Spring Removing the shroud N Move the Master Control lever to stop position (0) N Push the hand guard forward - the chain is locked. 1 2 1 1 N Open the twist locks (1) by turning them 1/4 turn counterclockwise with the combination wrench. Installing the Spark Plug
N
Screw home the spark plug, fit the
boot and press it down firmly.
N
Fit the shroud.
Removing the shroud
N
Move the Master Control lever to
stop position (
0
)
N
Push the hand guard forward – the
chain is locked.
N
Open the twist locks (1) by turning
them 1/4 turn counterclockwise with
the combination wrench.
N
Remove the shroud (2).
Warning!
To reduce the risk of fire and burn injury,
use only spark plugs authorized by
STIHL. Always press spark plug boot (1)
snugly onto spark plug terminal (2) of
the proper size. (Note: If terminal has
detachable SAE adapter nut, it must be
attached.) A loose connection between
spark plug boot and ignition wire con-
nector in the boot may create arcing that
could ignite combustible fumes and
cause a fire.
