l Basic connection l Set the power switches on the player and equipment to be connected to OFF beforeconnecting. l Read through the instruction for the equipment to be connected. l Be sure that the colors of the connectors and plugs match up when connecting the cord. S-video cord (optional) (See A mentioned above) Note: When the above connection is made, you must change "CNTR and REAR SPEARER" , "SUBWOOFER" setting to "OFF". (refer to page 21) Notes: l During DVD playing, the TV volume may be at a lower level than during TV broadcast. If this is the case, adjust the volume to the desired level. If the DVD player is connected to the TV through a video cassette recorder, the picture may not be played back normally with some DVD discs. If this is the case, do not connect the player via the VCR. *The S(separate) video output connector separates the chrominance (C) and luminance (Y) signals before transmitting them to the TV set in order to achieve a sharper picture. Use the S-video cord (optional) when connecting the player to a TV set equipped with an S-video input connector for the best picture clarity possible. Caution for connection of digital audio output terminal: On "DIGIT AL AUDIO OUT" terminal, don't connect amplify without Dolby AC-3 decoder. Otherwise, the attempt to play DVD discs may cause a high level of noise that it may be harmful to your ears and damage your speakers. l Optional audio connection Connecting to an AC-3amplifier or an AC-3 decoder C 1.
