New Assignable Roles: "Save Focus Position" and "Recall Focus Position" [Save focus position] and [Recall focus position] have been added to the roles that can be assigned to camera controls. Assign controls these roles to save and quickly restore the lens's current focus position ("memory recall"). You may find this useful if you frequently return to subjects at a fixed focus distance. • To save the current focus position, press and hold the control assigned the [Save focus position] role. The saved focus position can be restored by pressing a control assigned [Recall focus position]. • [Recall focus position] can be assigned to multiple buttons. You can choose whether each button recalls a separate focus position or the same focus position can be recalled using multiple buttons. • Focus positions can be saved in any focus mode. • The focus positions are stored in the lens currently attached to the camera. The stored distance is not reset when the camera is turned off. • The stored distance is however reset when the lens is detached. D Cautions: Memory Recall • No focus position can be saved while the information display appears. • Due to the change in the ambient temperature, the focus position may change from where it was saved when recalled. • Adjusting the lens focal length by zooming after a focus position is saved, the position tends to change when recalled.
