In the fields under the Static IP Address radio button, type the static IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway that you want to assign to the smart switch. 9. Click the Apply button. The settings are saved. Connectivity to the smart switch through the existing web management session is lost. 10. (Optional) Change the network settings on your computer (if the computer is running a Microsoft Windows operating system): a. Write down the current network address settings of your computer before you change them. b. On your computer, open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties screen. You need Windows administrator privileges to change the TCP/IP properties. c. Set the IP address of the computer to an address in the same network as the static IP address of the smart switch. The IP address of the computer must be different from the IP address of the smart switch but within the same subnet. d. Click the OK button. 11. Reconnect your computer to the web management interface of the smart switch: a. Open a web browser. b. In the browser address field, type the new IP address of the smart switch. c. Type the password in the Password field. The default password is password. Passwords are case-sensitive. d. Click the Login button.
