K N O W THE S TA N D A R D . To be UL 325 compliant, two monitored safety entrapment protection devices must be installed at each entrapment zone (the inherent reversing system in LiftMaster Gate Operators counts as one device). Beginning August 1, 2018, for a LiftMaster Slide Gate Operator to function, the operator will require a minimum of two external monitored safety entrapment protection devices: one in the open direction and one in the close direction. LiftMaster Slide Gate Operators will be shipped with a LiftMaster Monitored Safety Edge in addition to a LiftMaster Retro Reflective Photo Eye. LiftMaster Monitored Safety Entrapment Protection Devices must be used with LiftMaster Gate Operators to meet UL 325. Every installation is unique. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure all entrapment zones are protected with a minimum of two entrapment protection devices.
