16 Set Up functions Preparation for Set Up Set Up functions DV-705/DVF-R5070 (EN/K,P,E,Y) 1 Set the POWER ON/OFF switch to the ON ( ) position. POWER -ON -OFF ÷ After the power is switched ON, there is a delay of about 3 seconds before the display is lit. 2 Set TV Format according to the connected TV type. (Initial Settings 9) With no disc inserted, keep the ANGLE MAIN UNIT REMOTE key on the remote control pressed and ANGLE press the STOP key on the main unit. Each time the STOP key is pressed, the setting + will be switched as follows. 1 NTSC 2 MULTI (NTSC/PAL switchable) 3 PAL Preparations Set up menu The SETUP functions are the following diverse functions. Please change them according to your use environment. Language Set up OSD Language This switches the language for the on-screen display. ( ENGLISH ) Audio Language* Choose the language for the AUDIO output. ( ENGLISH ) Subtitle Language* Choose the language for SUB TITLE. ( ENGLISH ) Menu Language* Choose the language for the menu recorded on the DISC. ( ENGLISH ) * When "Original" is selected for items marked with an asterisk (*), automatic switching to the language initially set for the disc will be done. Please refer to Page 26 for the languages compatible with this model. Audio Set up Digital Output This selects the format of the audio output from the DIGITAL OUT terminal. BitStream Choose this when connecting to an amplifier with built-in Dolby digital or DTS decoder. When a DVD recorded with Dolby digital or DTS is played back, a bitstream signal will be put out. When a disc recorded with linear PCM is played back, a linear PCM signal will be put out. LPCM Choose this for PCM output. When a DVD recorded with Dolby digital is played back, output will be made converted to 2-channel PCM. And when a DVD recorded with DTS is played back, a bitstream signal will be put out. LPCM Output This selects the clock frequency for linear PCM output. 96kHz In case of 96 kHz digital signal, DVD will deliver 96 kHz signal out. In this case your receiver should control 96 kHz signal. 48kHz The items in Sets the linear PCM output to 48 kHz. Even in case of 96 kHz digital signal, DVD will deliver 48 kHz signal out. are the initial set values. How to use the RETURN key When the RETURN key is pressed, the display returns to the previous screen (STOP mode). RETURN
