Page 25 highlights

Note: Possibly, you will observe brownish spots within the kettle. However, this is not the result of any corrosion of the kettle but caused by iron-bearing lime. CLEANING THE WATER FILTER The time interval for cleaning the water filter depends on the amount of lime accumulated. Always switch OFF the appliance, unplug, and leave the appliance cool down before removing the water filter. Open the lid and pull out the water filter carefully. Rinse the water filter under running tap water to remove any residues of lime. Then, replace the water filter by pushing it back into position. DESCALING WARNING: Do not breath in the vapours of any descaling solution to avoid severe injuries to your respiratory tracts. Ensure good ventilation during the descaling procedure. CAUTION: Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects, corrosive chemicals, disinfectants, abrasive cleaners, or metal scouring pads for cleaning the appliance or any part of it. Do not use violence. Do not place the appliance or any part of it in an automatic dishwasher. According to the water hardness of your tap water, lime/scale will build-up within the kettle during use, degrading the performance of the kettle and leading to discolouration. Remove these deposition according to the following instructions. 1. Mix approx. 400-500 ml vinegar and 800-1000 ml water and pour this solution into the kettle. 2. Ensure good ventilation in the room and bring the vinegar solution to the boil. 3. Switch OFF the water kettle and unplug. Leave the vinegar solution within the kettle overnight. 4. Next morning, empty the water kettle and thereafter fill with clear tap water to the maximum filling level (1700 ml / MAX). Bring the water to the boil. 5. Empty the water kettle. Fill in clear tap water to the maximum filling level (1700 ml / 1.7 Litre). Switch on the kettle to bring the water to the boil. 6. Discard the hot water. Then rinse the interior of the kettle with clear tap water thoroughly. 7. Thereafter, the water kettle is ready for normal use again. 25
