Shooting Vertically (Vertical Shutter Release) Shooting Mode With the camera held vertically, you can release the shutter by pressing the FUNC./SET button in place of the shutter button. You can also shoot with the shutter button. 1 (Rec.) Menu [Vert. Shutter] [On]. See Menus and Settings (p. 30). The default setting is [On]. Shooting 2 Select a shooting mode. 3 Hold the camera vertically, aim at the subject and press the FUNC./SET button. Unlike the shutter button, this button does not have a halfway stage. When the camera focuses, it will beep twice and record the image immediately. To review the image immediately after taking the shot, continue to hold the FUNC./SET button. This overrides the Review setting (p. 31). Displays when using Vertical Shutter Release To use the FUNC. menu (p. 29) to make settings, hold the camera horizontally. 43
