Getting started 11 Getting started Your phone's displays are covered with a protective film. Remove this film slowly before using the phone. In rare cases, static discharge may cause discolouration at the edges of the display. However, this will disappear within approx. 10 minutes. Inserting the SIMcard/ Micro SD card The service provider supplies you with a SIM card on which all the important data for your line is stored. If the SIM card has been delivered in credit-card size, snap the smaller segment out and remove any rough edges. Attention Insert the SIM card before inserting the Micro SD Card.When the Micro SD Card is wrongly inserted into the SIM card slot, it cannot be removed! The Micro SD Card gives your phone a very large memory capacity. This allows you to save picture/video files and sound recordings, for example. However, you can also use this Micro SD Card like a floppy disk to save any other files. You can access the list of folders and files in the My stuff menu (page 56). If you assign a file from the Micro SD Card to a function in the phone such as a ringtone, the file is copied to the phone memory. New Micro SD Card • Create a backup copy of the data on the old Micro SD Card on a PC. • Format the new Micro SD Card. • Copy the data from the PC onto the new Micro SD Card.
