10 Connecting Audio/Video (AV) Peripherals (IV) Configuration IV: Digital Audio Output Optical Audio Out Digital Audio Signal Cable Digital Input Digital Amplifier or Decoder The audio portion of program discs can be output through the player's digital signal output port using the digital audio signal cable that is supplied with your player. Using digital audio signal transmission, you can obtain highest fidelity of music. Please check whether your amplifier, digital signal decoder or other equipment you intend to connect has digital audio signal input port in order to use this feature. Through digital audio transmission, your digital amplifier or decoder can accept and broadcast (1) Dolby AC-3 surround sound or (2) DTS (Digital Theater System) sound scheme encoded in the disc.
