PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT EAU42713 Tires To ensure maximum performance, long service, and safe operation, note the following: Tire air pressure Always check and adjust the tire pressure before operating the motorcycle. EWA14651 WARNING Operation of this vehicle with improper tire pressure may cause severe injury or death from loss of control. Tire inflation pressure should be checked and adjusted when the temperature of the tire equals the ambient air temperature. Tire sidewall 2. Tire wear indicator 3. Tire tread depth Always check the tires before operating the motorcycle. If a tire tread shows crosswise line (minimum tread depth), if the tire has a nail or glass fragments in it, or if the sidewall is cracked, contact a Yamaha dealer immediately and have the tire replaced. Minimum tire tread depth (front and rear): 1.0 mm (0.04 in) WARNING Never overload your vehicle. Operation of an overloaded vehicle could cause an accident. 7-19
