When this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer check the selfdiagnosis system. (See page 3-3 for an explanation of the self-diagnosis device.) The electrical circuit of the warning light can be checked by turning the key to "ON". If the warning light does not come on for a few seconds, then go off, have a Yamaha dealer check the electrical circuit. G G G G 1. Speedometer 2. Fuel gauge 3. The multi-function meter unit is equipped with the following: G a speedometer (which shows the riding speed) G a tachometer (which shows the engine speed) G a fuel gauge 3-3 NOTE: G Be sure to turn the key to "ON" before using the "SELECT" and "RESET" switches, except for setting the brightness control mode. G To switch the odometer, the tripmeters and the fuel reserve tripmeter displays between kilometers and miles, press the "SELECT" switch for at least two seconds.

Engine trouble warning light “
This warning light comes on or flashes
when an electrical circuit monitoring the
engine is defective. When this occurs,
have a Yamaha dealer check the self-
diagnosis system. (See page 3-3 for an
explanation of the self-diagnosis de-
vice.)
The electrical circuit of the warning light
can be checked by turning the key to
“ON”. If the warning light does not come
on for a few seconds, then go off, have
a Yamaha dealer check the electrical
circuit.

multi-function

two tripmeters (which show the
distance traveled since they were
last set to zero)
a fuel reserve tripmeter (which
shows the distance traveled on the
fuel reserve)

a self-diagnosis device
a brightness control mode
NOTE:
Be sure to turn the key to “ON” be-
fore using the “SELECT” and “RE-
SET” switches, except for setting
the brightness control mode.
To switch the odometer, the trip-
meters and the fuel reserve trip-
meter displays between kilometers
and miles, press the “SELECT”
switch for at least two seconds.
