WARNING @ G G G Never smoke around the battery while it is being charged. Sparks may ignite the hydrogen gas created by the battery. Never connect the battery to or disconnect it from the snowmobile while it is being charged. Sparks may ignite the hydrogen gas created by the battery. Make sure that the battery terminals are tight and that the battery vent tube is properly routed and is securely attached to the battery. Returning to service after storage When returning your snowmobile to service, reinstall the V-belt and adjust the drive track. Before installing the battery, have a Yamaha dealer inspect and fully charge it. Install the battery, and make sure that the battery vent tube is properly installed and that there are no kinks in it. Remove the spark plugs and clean or replace them if necessary. Perform all other pre-operation and seasonal maintenance checks listed in the periodic maintenance chart. For peak performance, it is recommended that you have your snowmobile checked and tuned by a Yamaha dealer. They have the experience and training to help you get the maximum performance and use of your Yamaha snowmobile. @ CAUTION: @ Do not charge the battery quickly. Charge the battery for 10 hours at 2.0 amperes. @ 7. Drive track Loosen the drive track and block up the chassis so that the track is suspended above the ground. 8. V-belt Remove the V-belt and store separately. 9. Storage Store the snowmobile in a dry, well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Put a fabric cover over the snowmobile, preferably one that is designed for it.
