OPERATION Break-In Period Engine Break-In Always follow these recommended break-in procedures for new or rebuilt engines. The first tank of fuel is considered the break-in period for the engine. Do not operate at full throttle or high speeds for extended periods during the first three hours of use. OPERATION Fuel WARNING Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive under certain conditions Always exercise extreme caution whenever handling gasoline. Always refuel outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Always turn off the engine before refueling. Do not overfill the tank. Do not fill the tank - 2011 Polaris 800 Pro-RMK | Owners Manual - Page 64
OPERATION Fuel Recommendation For peak performance, POLARIS recommends the use of 91 octane fuel or higher. Although 87 octane fuel is usable, some engine performance will be lost and fuel economy will decrease. Do not use lower than 87 octane fuel. OPERATION Oil Low Oil Level Always maintain the oil level between the "add" mark and the bottle neck. Do not fill the bottle neck. See page 56 for oil recommendations. 1. OPERATION Engine Stop Switch Push down on the engine stop switch (H) to ground out the ignition and stop the engine quickly. Pull the switch up to the ON position to allow restarting. OPERATION Electronic Reverse (PERC) Engaging Reverse 1. Stop the snowmobile and leave the engine idling. 2. Make sure the area behind your vehicle is clear. 3.
