Operator Safety SAFETY WARNING POTENTIAL HAZARD: Operating the ATV after consuming alcohol or drugs. WHAT CAN HAPPEN: Consumption of alcohol and/or drugs could seriously affect operator judgment. Reaction time may be slower and operator balance and perception could be affected. Consuming alcohol and/or drugs before or while operating an ATV could result in an accident causing severe injury or death. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD: Never consume alcohol or drugs before or while operating an ATV. WARNING POTENTIAL HAZARD: Operating the ATV at excessive speeds. WHAT CAN HAPPEN: Excessive speed increases the operator's chance of losing control of the ATV, which can result in an accident causing severe injury or death. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD: Always operate the ATV at a speed that's proper for the terrain, visibility and operating conditions, and your experience. 31
