GAUGES, METERS, AND SERVICE REMINDER INDICATORS If the brake fluid level is correct ...Have the warning system checked by your Lexus dealer. (d) Low Engine Oil Level Warning Light (b) Seat Belt Reminder Light and Buzzer Once the ignition key is turned to "ON" or "START", the reminder light and buzzer come on if the driver's seat belt is not fastened. Unless the driver fastens the belt, the light stays on and the buzzer stops after about 4 to 8 seconds. This light indicates that the engine oil level needs to be checked. If the light comes on while you are driving on rough roads or steep inclines, take your vehicle to a level spot to see whether the light goes off. If it remains on, check the oil level following the instructions of "Checking the engine oil level" on page 203. (c) SRS Airbag Warning Light NOTICE Continued engine operation with low engine oil will damage the engine. This indicator comes on when the ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "ON" position. It goes off after about 6 seconds. This means the SRS airbags are operating properly. The SRS airbag warning light system monitors the airbag sensor assembly, inflators, warning light, interconnecting wiring and power sources. If either of the following conditions occurs, this indicates a malfunction somewhere in the parts monitored by the warning light system. Contact your Lexus dealer as soon as possible to service the vehicle. S The light does not come on as described above or remains on. S The light comes on while driving. (e) Malfunction Indicator Lamp This lamp comes on in the following cases. a. The fuel tank is completely empty. (See "Fuel gauge" on page 26 for instructions.) b. There is a problem somewhere in your engine electrical system. If it comes on while you are driving in case b., have your vehicle checked/repaired by your Lexus dealer as soon as possible. 31
