Locks and Security The inside lights will not turn off if: • they have been turned on with the dimmer control, or • any door is open. The battery saver will shut off the interior lamps 10 minutes after the ignition has been turned to the 3 (OFF) position. Perimeter lamps illuminated entry On vehicles equipped with the remote entry system, the following items will illuminate: • Puddle lamps (if equipped) • Head lamps • Park lamps • Tail lamps The system will automatically turn off: • if the ignition switch is turned to the 4 (ON) position, or • the remote entry transmitter lock control is pressed, or • the vehicle is locked using the keyless entry keypad (if equipped), or • after 25 seconds of illumination. Deactivating/activating perimeter lamps You may enable/disable this feature by having your vehicle serviced by your authorized dealer. You may also perform the following power door lock sequence to enable/disable the perimeter lamps feature (Note: All doors must be closed and remain closed throughout the process.): 1. Turn the ignition to the 4 (ON) 3 position, and then press the power 2 door unlock control 3 times. 2. Turn the ignition to the 3 (OFF) 4 position, then press the power door 1 unlock control 3 times. 5 3. Turn the ignition to the 4 (ON) position. The horn will chirp one time as confirmation that the programming mode is staged. 4. Press the power door unlock control twice within 5 seconds.
