RF-RBKIT Wireless HD Audio Starter Kit
QUICK SETUP GUIDE
Initial setup
1
Unpack the package contents.
2
Enable the remote control battery.
Remove the tab from the bottom
of the remote control.
3
Set up the Wireless HD Audio Starter Kit.
The diagram shows a typical RF-RBKIT
application for home theater
wireless surround sound. The
wireless sender is connected to
the surround sound speaker
outputs of your home theater
system and the wireless receiver
is connected to the surround
sound speakers. The RF-RBKIT
could similarly be used to send
audio from your A/V receiver or
other audio component to other
rooms in your house.
See the following steps for
further setup details.

Establishing communication
The sender and receiver packaged together with the RF-RBKIT were pre-joined so they will
communicate with each other right out of the box. So if this is your first Rocketboost enabled
product you can skip this step and go to the next section,
Using your wireless sender and receiver
step.
If you need to rejoin the sender and receiver, and this is your only Rocketboost enabled product,
then use the following steps.
1
Set the
HUB STATUS
switch on the wireless sender to
ENABLE
if this is your first Rocketboost
product set.
The power indicator turns green when the
HUB STATUS
switch is set to
ENABLE
.
The power indicator turns blue when the
HUB STATUS
switch is set to
DISABLE
.
2
Press and hold
on the wireless sender for more than three seconds to put it into joining
mode. The power indicator starts blinking rapidly and the unit will stay in joining mode for 30
seconds.
3
Press and hold the
on the wireless receiver for more than three seconds so the sender and
receiver enter joining mode.
The power indicator lights steadily if the joining was successful.
The power indicator blinks slowly if the joining was not successful.
If you already have other Rocketboost devices you need to join both the sender and the receiver to
your existing hub device. See the
User Guide
for detailed instructions on how to do this.
Using you wireless sender and receiver
1
Turn on the wireless sender and wireless receiver. The power indicator LEDs should light
steadily. If they are blinking you need to rejoin the sender and receiver. See the
Establishing
communication
step above.
2
Turn on the audio source connected to the wireless sender. Make sure the volume of the audio
source is not muted, otherwise no audio will be sent over the Rocketboost network.
3
Press the
SOURCE A
or
B
button on the wireless sender to turn on the source from the A or B
inputs, depending on which input you want to listen to. The LED around the source button
turns on to show that the source is enabled.
4
Adjust the audio level on the wireless receiver. If you have multiple audio sources in your
Rocketboost network, press the
SOURCE
button on the wireless receiver to hear the next audio
source. Press the
SOURCE
button again to cycle through all available audio sources.
Rocketboost network notes:
Every Rocketboost network must contain
one hub device, which helps devices join
the network. The network can have only
one hub, which you can enable using the
hub switch on the back of all Rocketboost
senders and sender/receivers. If this is your
first Rocketboost product, you should
make this device the hub, if you already
have Rocketboost products, you should
disable hub mode on this device.
Important
: Hub devices must always have
power for your network to operate. The
hub device can be in standby (power-
saving) mode, but must stay plugged in.

Connecting the wireless sender
Note
:
The sender supports two audio sources, which are labelled A and B. For each audio source
you can use either the Speaker-In or Pre-in (line level) connectors, depending on your need. For
example, when using the sender with a home theater system amplifier, it is convenient to use the
Speaker-In connectors. When using the sender with a TV or MP3 player, use the Pre-In connectors.
Connecting to the Speaker-In connectors (such as
home theater surround sound) or Pre-In connectors
Note
:
The diagram and following step are for home theater
wireless surround sound. If you want to listen to your home
theater main channels in another room, connect the left
and right channels of the home theater system instead of
the surround channels.
1
Connect the right surround speaker terminals of your
home theater system to the right speaker terminals of
the sender by connecting the red speaker wire to the
red (+)
terminals, and the black speaker wire to the
black (-)
terminals. Repeat to connect the left surround
speaker terminals.
OR
2
If you are connecting to the Pre-in connectors,
connect external audio source(s) to the
Pre-in A
and/or
B
jacks on the rear of the sender using
the 3.5 mm stereo cable. If necessary, you can
also use the 3.5 mm to RCA adapter, if your audio
device uses RCA type line out connectors.
3
Connect the AC power adapter to the sender
and plug into an AC power outlet.
Connecting the wireless receiver
Note
:
You can use the receiver for wireless surround sound or to listen to your music in another
room in your house.
1
Connect the right speaker to the right
speaker-out connectors on the receiver.
Use a red speaker wire to connect the
red
(
+
) speaker-out connector and a black
speaker wire to connect the
black
(
-
) speaker-out connector.
Repeat this step to connect the left speaker.
2
Connect one end of the AC power cord to the
AC IN
connector on the back of the receiver.
Then, plug the other end of the AC power cable into an AC power outlet. The Standby indicator
turns on.
