Although notebooks are sometimes called "laptops," do not use your notebook while it rests on your unprotected lap. Warning High voltages can enter your notebook through both the power cord and the modem connection. To protect your notebook and avoid electrical shock, use a surge protector. If you have a telephone modem, use a surge protector that has a modem jack. Using the optional fingerprint reader Your notebook may include a fingerprint reader that provides enhanced security and convenience. The fingerprint reader is located between the left and right touchpad buttons. You do not need to restart your notebook when changing most cards because your notebook supports hot-swapping.
