Import process Import consists of a sequence of steps that are run on the source system, host, and PowerStore cluster. The - Dell PowerStore 1000X | EMC PowerStore Importing External Storage to PowerStore - Page 9
storage volumes are configured with CHAP, data transfer is secured with CHAP support, Discovery CHAP and Authentication CHAP. PowerStore supports both single as well as mutual CHAP. For more information about CHAP support, refer to General import restrictions on page 12. Overview of the import - Dell PowerStore 1000X | EMC PowerStore Importing External Storage to PowerStore - Page 10
In addition, the following processes are available during the import procedure: • Pause import - Pause can be performed when the import processing state is Copy-In-Progress. When an import session is paused, only the background copy is stopped. The forwarding of host I/O to the remote source system - Dell PowerStore 1000X | EMC PowerStore Importing External Storage to PowerStore - Page 11
to each host system should be of the same type, either all FC or all iSCSI. • A connection exists between the source system and the PowerStore cluster. Only iSCSI is supported for this connection. • Only one instance of MPIO should be running on the host in order to perform an import. • Table - Dell PowerStore 1000X | EMC PowerStore Importing External Storage to PowerStore - Page 12
