Place the tire, lying flat, in the rear storage compartment. 10-87 { WARNING Storing a jack, a tire, or other equipment in the passenger compartment of the vehicle could cause injury. In a sudden stop or collision, loose equipment could strike someone. Store all these in the proper place. To store the flat or spare tire and tools: 1. Open the liftgate. See Liftgate on page 2￿14 for more information. 2. Put back all tools as they were stored in the rear storage compartment and put the compartment cover back on. For more information, see "Storing the Compact Spare Tire and Tools" next in this section. 6. Route the strap through the wheel, as shown. 7. Attach the strap to the other cargo tie-down in the rear of the vehicle. 8. Tighten the strap. 5. Attach the strap to the cargo tie-down in the rear of the vehicle. The compact spare is for temporary use only. Replace the compact spare tire with a full-size tire as soon as you can.
