Disabling The Theft System If your audio system is secured (SEC shows on the display) and you wish to disable it, enter your security code as follows. Do not pause more than 15 seconds between steps. 1. Turn the ignition ON (radio offj. The time will show on the display. 2. Press preset buttons 1 and 4 together until SEC shows on the display. 9. Press the AM-FM button. If the display shows "---," the disabling sequence was successful. (The numbers matched the user-selectedcode or the factory back-up code and the unit is in the unsecured mode.) If the display showsSEC, the disabling sequence was unsuccessful and the numbers did not match either of the codes. The unit will then remain inthe secured mode. Understanding Radio Reception FM Stereo FM stereo will give you the best sound, but FM signals will reach only about10 to 40 miles (16 to 65 km). And, tall buildings or hills can interfere with FM signals, causing the soundto come and go. 3. Press SET. The display will show "000." 4. Press SCAN and hold ituntil the first digit of your code appears. Release the button. 5. Press SEEK 4 or and hold until the second and third digits of your code appear. Release the button. 6. Press the AM-FM knob. The radio will display "000." 7. Press SCAN and holdit until the fourth digit of your code appears. Release the button. 23. AM The range for most AM stations is greater than for FM, especially at night.The longer range can, however, cause stations to interfere with each other. AM can pick up noise from things likestorms and power lines.Try reducing the treble to reduce this noise. Press SEEK 4 or and hold until the fifth and sixth digits of your code appear.
